Founder & Medical Director, APEX Precision Health PLLC
Dr. Rodney Sholty is a board-certified family physician whose career spans more than three decades of care in underserved and resource-limited settings — from rural critical-access hospitals to federal Indian reservations to correctional medicine.
He completed a dedicated Rural Medicine Residency through the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Department of Family Medicine (2015–2018), serving as Chief Resident and training hands-on at Humboldt General Hospital in rural Winnemucca, Nevada — experience that shaped APEX's approach to high-acuity care in low-resource environments.
A service-disabled veteran, Dr. Sholty brings military discipline and mission focus to civilian medicine: resilient systems, precise protocols, and care that shows up when and where it's needed.
Formed in 2026, APEX Precision Health is a Texas professional limited liability company fully owned by licensed physicians and certified as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). The practice operates Ascent Medical Clinic and Dive with a Doc, and partners with rural Texas hospitals to provide physician-led emergency and hospitalist coverage.
Every clinical decision is made by licensed physicians, in full compliance with Texas's Corporate Practice of Medicine doctrine. No outside investors influence patient care.
Certification as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business qualifies APEX for federal and state contracting preferences — an advantage we pass on to partner hospitals as savings.
Texas has lost more rural hospitals than any other state. APEX exists to reverse that trend with sustainable, physician-led staffing built for rural realities.
Whether you're a patient seeking personalized care or a hospital leader exploring staffing options, the conversation starts here.
